On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, James Edward Yezzo Sr. passed away at the age of 75. Jim was born on July 19, 1944 in Harlem, NY. Most of his life he worked in the semi-conductor industry. Later in life he changed careers and started working for WE Transport. He enjoyed driving the bus and getting children safely to school. He eventually started working for ATU Local 1181 as a shop steward and union delegate.
In Jim’s younger years he loved playing baseball. He was an avid Yankees fan and collected all types of sports memorabilia. He loved watching and going to sporting events. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
Jim was preceded in death by his Father, Frank, his Mother Josephine, his brother Frank and his son Daniel. He was survived by his brothers Dominick and Wayne, his sister Angela, his children Jimmy, Frank, Anthony, Mary-Jo, Paul, Richie, Christina and Matthew, his grandchildren Jimmy, Michelle, Melissa, Salvatore, Anthony, Brittany, Cooper, Elizabeth, Jay, Elijah and Bryce, several cousins, nieces, great nieces, a nephew, great nephews and his partner Alberta Smith.
Services will be held at St. Mel’s Roman Catholic Church 26-15 154th Street, Flushing NY 11354 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association.
